Patrick A. Mello is an assistant professor of international security at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research focuses on foreign and security policy and comparative methods. His books include the Democratic Participation in Armed Conflict (2014; Palgrave Macmillan) and Qualitative Comparative Analysis: An Introduction to Research Design and Application (2021; Georgetown University Press), and he is the co-editor of the Routledge Handbook of Foreign Policy Analysis Methods (2023).
