Do male-dominated populist radical right parties affect women's political inclusion in mainstream parties? In this episode, we invite Cecilia Josefsson (Uppsala University, Sweden) to show us, through a case study of the Swedish Parliament, whether PRR parties may adapt to mainstream norms and promote women’s inclusion (positive contagion) or challenge these norms (adverse contagion).

About the Speaker
Cecilia Josefsson is an associate professor in political science in the Department of Government at Uppsala University, Sweden. Her research focuses on political institutions and representation from a gender perspective in a wide variety of contexts, including Sub‐Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Scandinavia. Currently, she is researching gendered working conditions and leadership in the Swedish Parliament, resistance to gender equitable institutional change, and political representation in Sub‐Saharan Africa.
